HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 02-41111 1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 02 -4111 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY ADOPTING A DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (DBE) PROGRAM FOR FEDERAL YEAR 2001 -2002, AND 2002 -2003 WHEREAS, local agencies applying for Federal funds must comply with all elements of Title 49, part 26 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) entiltled "participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in Department of Transportation Financial Assisted Programs; and WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will monitor local agencies' procedures to assure compliance with Title VI and Title VIII of the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1968, respectively; and WHEREAS, the City of Temple City receives federal funding from the Federal Highway Administration for capital improvement projects benefiting the City; and WHEREAS, the City of Temple City supports state and federal goals of non - discrimination in the awarding of contracts for capital improvement projects; and WHEREAS, the adoption and implementation of a DBE program is required before submission of a Request for Authorization to proceed with a Federal aid project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City of Temple City's Disadvantaged Business (DBE) Program for Federal Fiscal Year 2001 -02, and Program Participation Goals for Fiscal Year 2002 -03, are hereby approved. SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to sign the City's DBE Program, goal documents, and revisions. SECTION 3. The Director of Public Services is authorized to administer the terms of the DBE Program on behalf of the City. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of August, 2002.
