Increase enrollment in Watertown Electricity Choice (as of 2019). Promote
adaptive reuse of existing buildings, support efficient, affordable housing .
Recent Achievements / Baseline Information :
• Environment & Energy Efficiency Committee (WE3C) - since 2003
• Green Community designation (2010), upgrades to reduce Town energy usage 14%
• Commercial Solar Mandate (2019) and Town solar/geothermal installations
• 267 residential solar installations
Next Steps : Continue education on energy conservation and efficiency,
support energy efficiency in rental properties , and consider
incentives/requirements to encourage energy efficiency and renewables in
new development as well as existing buildings .

Next Steps : Prioritize sidewalk improvements that create continuous
connections , create a branded wayfinding program , construct traffic
calming features and investigate locations for walking trails .

construction and renovation projects . Inventory materials purchasing program
and develop a plan to increase post-consumer recycling content
