AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-26 OF THE G ENCASTLE CITY CODE
REGARDING SCHEDULE OF LIMITED PARKING ZONES
WHEREAS,Section 8-26 of the Greencastle City Code lists the limited parking zones within the City
of Greencastle;
WHEREAS,the City designated three(3)ten-minute parking spaces in the Walnut Street Parking lot
for use by patrons of the Post Office, and that parking lot no longer exists; and
WHEREAS, in 2020 the Common Council designated two par ing spaces for ten-minute parking in
the downtown area to facility the needs of businesses during the Covid pandemic,and the ten-minute parking
space on Indiana Street is vacant many times during the day and is no longer needed.

NOW THEREFORE be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle that Section
8-26, Schedule of Limited Parking Spaces, is hereby amended as follows:
1. Indiana Street The ten-minute parking space adjacent to the crosswalk between
Franklin Street and Washington Street shall revert to 2 hour limited
parking consistent with the surrounding parking spaces.
2. Walnut Street All limited parking spaces ar hereby deleted.

3. Street Side From To Timer
Vine Street West Columbia St eet Poplar Street 2 hr.
ADD:
Walnut Street South Jackson Street Indiana Street 2 hr.
All other provisions contained within Section 8-26 of the Greencastle C'ty Code shall remain in full force and
effect.
This Ordinance shall have full force and effect upon passage of the Greencastle Common Council and
its approval by the Mayor.
