ORDINANCE 2022-13
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION -24 OF THE
GREENCASTLE CITY CODE REGARDING
SCHEDULE OF RESERVED PARKINGI SPACES
WHEREAS, Section 8-24 of the Greencastle City Code lists the reserved parking spaces within the
City of Greencastle; and
WHEREAS, the City had an agreement to reserve five parking spaces for employees of the First
Christian Church for a period of five years, as part of the purchase of the property from the Church for
construction of the parking lot, and that time period has elapsed; and
WHEREAS,the Senior Center is no longer in need of the space on Indiana Street,immediately north
of Franklin Street.
NOW THEREFORE be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle that Section
8-24, Schedule of Reserved Parking Spaces, is hereby amended as follows:
1. Delete: Southcourt Parking Lot. Five (5) spaces along the south side of the parking lot
reserved for employees of the First Christian Church. The five parking spaces shall return to
use by the general public;
2. Delete: Indiana Street. One (1) space on Indiana S reet, immediately north of Franklin
Street
on the west side. Said parking space shall revert to two (2)hour limited parking under
Section 8-26 of the Greencastle City Code.
3. Delete: Jackson Street. Two(2)spaces along the south side reserved for the Superior and
Circuit Judges. Said parking space shall revert to two (2)hour limited parking under
Section 8-26 of the Greencastle City Code.
4. Add: Banner Graphic Parking Lot. Three(3)spaces. Authorized Vehicles: Vehicles ofthe
Superior Judge, Circuit Judge and Magistrate. Time Limit: No limit.
5. Add: Franklin Street. Location: One (1) space on south side, between Indiana Street and
Jackson Street. Authorized Vehicles: Courthouse Del uty. Time Limit: 8:00 a.m.to 4:00
p.m.
6. Add: Franklin Street. Location: One (1) space on so th side, between Indiana Street and
Jackson Street. Authorized Vehicles: Law Enforcement. Time Limit: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m.
7. Amend: Franklin Street. One(1) space on north side immediately west of Indiana Street.
Authorized Vehicles shall be amended to state: "Loading Zone and patrons of the
Senior Citizens Center.
8. Amend: all references to Southcourt Parking Lot shall be changed to Jackson Street Parking
Lot.

NOW THEREFORE be it further ordained that all other lang age in Section 8-24 not specifically
amended hereby shall remain in full force and effect.
This Ordinance shall have full force and effect upon passage oft e Greencastle Common Council and
its approval by the Mayor.
