Tybee Village, LLC would like to erect a shark statue and a fence on the property. The shark statue will be 12' in height, and approximately 6' in diameter. The statue will have an opening at the mouth, and a small opening in the back so individuals may enter the statue for photo opportunities. The statue will be affixed directly to a concrete slab. The location of this statue is shown on the provided site plan. If needed, the owners are willing to plant some trees in order to screen the statue from the view of the residents located behind the commercial property. b. The fence will, be 8' in height, cover one half of the east and west property boundaries, and the complete southern boundary. The location of the fence is shown on the provided site plan. The fence should increase the privacy for the residents located behind this building. A picture of a similar fence is attached. 5. Please include the renderings in the packages. 6. City Council approved the Site Plan on May 12, 2011. Your request was to not install fencing on the east and west ends, and that the fence be 6 -feet rather than 8 -feet on the south site. Attached is a narrative from the Site Plan file describing the proposed fence. Because there is not currently a Planning and Zoning Manager I forwarded your request to Diane Schleicher, City Manager. She has responded that the approved Site Plan must be followed for this project. An option would be to go through the Site Plan process again to seek approval of a different plan.
