A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AMENDMENT OF
GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM
FOR CITY OF GREENCASTLE EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, on January 1, 1987, the City of Greencastle entered
into a contract with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Indiana to provide
a group health insurance program for its full time employees,
pursuant to I.C. 5-10-8-2.1;
WHEREAS, said group health insurance contract was renewed on
January 1, 1988;
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle desires to amend the Blue
Cross/Blue Shield Master Policy No. 01-58602 to Preferred Care,
Option II, effective April 1, 1988;
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle desires to establish a
percentage basis for the payment of premiums for the group health
insurance program in order to provide better coverage for full
time city employees;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the
City of Greencastle as follows:
1. The amendment of the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Master
Policy No. 01-58602 to Preferred Care, Option II, effective April
1, 1988 is hereby in all things ratified and approved.
2. The Clerk-Treasurer of the City of Greencastle shall
make deductions from the employees' paychecks or warrants to pay
twenty percent (20%) of the premiums for said group health
insurance and that the City of Greencastle shall pay eighty
percent (80%) of said premiums from the funds previously
appropriated for such group health insurance.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of
Greencastle at their regular meeting this 8th day of March, 1988.
