WHEREAS; Recent programs and reviews have developed
a pronounced need for housing among elderly,
Law single family household and lower income
components of our community, and;
WHEREAS; Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has
announced a new program of housing vouchers
for low income families, and;
WHEREAS; HUD has announced a state wide program of
funding new units and invited Greencastle
Housing Authority to participate, and;
WHEREAS; The Greencastle Housing Authority did endorse
the proposal and is preparing to request an
award of 25 (twenty-five) units from the
overall program;
NOW THEREFORE; We, the Common Council of the City of
Greencastle endorse the objective of seeking
housing assistance for low income families
for Greencastle and Putnam County and we
will cooperate in seeking this objective.
