A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR
,-"•, PUTNAM COUNTY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
WHEREAS, there is a need for decent, affordable housing in the City of
Greencastle; and,
WHEREAS, Putnam County Habitat for Humanity represents a broadly based,
locally controlled and directed alternative for providing such housing; and,
WHEREAS, all Habitat homes are built through private contributions and
donations of money, labor, materials, land, services and sweat equity; and.
WHEREAS, potential owners would not otherwise qualify for traditional
forms of financing and construction,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of City of
Greencastle that the City of Greencastle hereby affirms the objective of
providing decent, affordable housing for the residents of Putnam County and
supports, in principle, the efforts of Putnam County Habitat for Humanity to
provide such housing for those who could not otherwise obtain such housing.
Further, we encourage the community (individual, business, corporations and
charitable/philanthropic/fraternal organizations) to support this endeavor.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle this
13th day of December, 1988.
