RESOLUTION NO. 02 -4138
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
MAKING PUBLIC BENEFIT FINDINGS AND APPROPRIATING MONIES FROM
THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING BLEACHERS
WHEREAS, Temple City National Little League has requested the City Council consider
appropriating an amount not to exceed $12,000 for the purpose of assisting the League in
replacing aging bleachers at their ball field located at Longden School; and,
WHEREAS, National Little League provides an opportunity for Temple City youth to experience
the game of baseball; and,
WHEREAS, the bleachers will be located at Longden School, thereby making them available to
the general public for use by the general public; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council determines it is in the best interest of the public for the City to retain
ownership of the bleachers so that they may be used in other areas of the City at any time
determined necessary by the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, to ensure the City is not subject to liability for the installation, maintenance, or the
event of accident involving the bleachers while being used by the League, the City Council
requires the League to name the City as an additional insured on the League's insurance policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Temple City hereby
finds, determines, and orders:
Section 1: The public benefit is served by the purchase of these bleachers based upon
the fact the City retains ownership thereof and may utilize them for public events as the need
arises; and,
Section 2: In order to avoid liability appurtenant to the ownership of the bleachers,
Temple City National Little League shall name the City of Temple City and its officers, employees,
and volunteers as additional insureds on the League's insurance policy.
Section 3: A sum not to exceed $12,000 for the purchase of said bleachers is hereby
appropriated from the General Fund.

I, City Clerk of the City of Temple City, do hereby certify that Resolution No. 02 -4138 was
adopted at a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Temple City held on the 19th day of
November, 2002. It was duly passed, approved and adopted by said Council, approved and
signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk at a special meeting held on the 19th day of
November, 2002 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilman - Souder, Wilson, Zovak, Vizcarra, Gillanders
NOES: Councilman -None
ABSENT: Councilman -None
