A RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION TO THE
/'-\ SMALL CITIES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT COMMUNITY FOCUS FUND
WHEREAS, the Greater Eastside of the City of Greencastle is
served by sewers which carry both storm and sanitary flows.
During periods of heavy rainfall, the combined sewers cause the
5th Street Lift Station to bypass, thereby violating IDEM and EPA
regulations. In addition, the lack of adequate storm sewers
causes the flooding of basements and yards in the Greater
Eastside; and
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle desires to apply to the
Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Community Focus
Fund of the Indiana Department of Commerce for a grant in the
amount of $300,000 in order to complete the Greater Eastside
Sewer Separation Project; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the
City of Greencastle that the application for a grant in the sum
of $300,000 from the Community Focus Fund in order to complete
the Greater Eastside Sewer Separation Project is hereby in all
things ratified and approved and the Mayor of Greencastle is
further authorized to execute such procedural documents and
procurement as may be necessary to secure and administer the
grant.
PASSED AND RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Greencastle at its regular meeting this 19th day of December,
1989.
