HomeMy Public PortalAbout16-1990-16 RESOLUTION NO. 1990-16 RESOLUTION APPROVING STATEMENT OF BENEFITS FOR WAL-MART STORES, INC. WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Greencastle on August 21, 1990, by Resolution No. 1990-12, declared the following described real estate within the City as an economic revitalization area under the terms and provisions of I.C. 6-1.1- 12.1: Situate in the State of Indiana, County of Putnam and being a part of the West half of Section 23, Township 14 North, Range 4 West of the Second Principal Meridian, more particularly described to-wit: Commencing at the Southwest corner of Section 23, Township 14 North, Range 4 West; thence North 00 degrees 27 minutes East 1729.52 feet with the West line of said Section 23 and to the true point of beginning of the real estate herein described; thence North 00 degrees 27 minutes East 2132.92 feet with the West line of said Section 23; thence South 89 degrees 33 minutes East 20.00 feet to the East right-of-way of 10th Street; thence with the right-of-way of the proposed Southern Highway, North 08 degrees 59 minutes East 101.12 feet; thence North 00 degrees 27 minutes East 24.97 n feet; thence leaving the right-of-way of said Southern Highway, South 89 degrees 25 minutes East 259.84 feet; thence North 05 degrees 34 minutes West 265.95 feet to the South right-of-way of the aforesaid Southern Highway; thence with said Southern right-of-way, North 63 degrees 18 minutes East 148.02 feet; thence North 64 degrees 16 minutes East 300.04 feet; thence North 59 degrees 30 minutes East 300.67 feet; thence North 63 degrees 18 minutes East 300.00 feet; thence North 69 degrees 01 minute East 100.50 feet; thence North 57 degrees 49 minutes East 104.48 feet; thence North 63 degrees 18 minutes East 581.33 feet; thence leaving the Southern right-of-way of said Southern Highway, thence South 00 degrees 53 minutes West 3378.02 feet; thence North 89 degrees 21 minutes West 1866.13 feet to the point of beginning, containing 122.77 acres, more or less. and, WHEREAS, a copy of said Resolution was published pursuant to I.C. 5-3-1, and after due publication, a public hearing was held on September 25, 1990; and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Greencastle on September 25, 1990, passed Resolution No. 1990-14, "A Resolution Confirming A Resolution Declaring an Economic Revitalization Area passed by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, on the 21st day of August, 1990". 1. WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 6-1.1-12.1-3, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. on November 27, 1990, filed its Statement of Benefits (Form SB-i) , a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, pursuant to I.C. 6-1.1-12.1-3, has reviewed the Statement of Benefits; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, as follows: 1. That the estimate of the value of the redevelopment is reasonable for projects of that nature. 2. That the estimate of the number of individuals who will be employed can be reasonably expected to result from the proposed described redevelopment. 3. That the estimate of the annual salaries of those individuals who will be employed can be reasonably expected to result from the proposed described redevelopment. 4. That any other benefits about which information was requested are benefits that can be reasonably expected to result from the proposed described redevelopment. 5. That the totality of benefits is sufficient to justify the deduction. That the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, further RESOLVES that the deductions pursuant to I.C. 6-1.1-12.1- 3 for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. are hereby approved.
