Subject: Consideration for FY18 Supplemental Discretionary Funds
The McCall Municipal Airport desires to be considered for FY18 Supplemental Discretionary Funds
as made available by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018.
Name and official three letter identifier of the airport, its location, and NPIAS number:
McCall Municipal Airport, MYL, McCall, ID, 16-0023
Brief description of the project:
The project is to acquire 15.302 acres of land necessary to relocate a parallel taxiway currently in
violation of FAA runway to parallel taxiway separation standards.
Brief explanation of how the project meets the evaluation criteria:
The overarching project is to relocate a parallel taxiway to meet current FAA runway to parallel
taxiway separation standards. The existing offset of 200 feet from the centerline of Runway 16-34 to
the centerline of Parallel Taxiway A violates Airport Design Group B standards. This land
acquisition only contains the minimum acreage needed to relocate the taxiway per recommendation
of the current McCall Municipal Airport Master Plan. The parallel taxiway relocation will provide
the required separation and allow the associated taxiway object free area to be on airport owned
property. This land acquisition is not for noise buffer or future use, but to enable construction to
begin on McCall's highest priority safety project. Grant application and closeout documents have
been provided to the Helena ADO. The intent is this AIP grant will be issued and closed out within
FY 18.
Target timeframe for grant award and construction start:
Grant application and all required documentation for closeout of the grant has been submitted the
FAA Helena ADO. It is anticipated the grant when awarded will be closed out in FY18. Planning
for the taxiway relocation is scheduled for FY19 with construction in FY20. Note: This schedule
was developed anticipating the City of McCall's need to raise grant match funds. If supplemental
funds are received for the land acquisition, it may be possible to accelerate this timeline.
Brief description of how the airport sponsor is using its available AIP entitlement funds:
McCall Airport's FY 18 entitlement funds are also being used to fund this project.
