Councilman Presents the following Ordinance Seconded by Councilman
AN ORDINANCE TO ADOPT REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE FEDERAL BOULEVARD
REDEVELOPMENT AREA (PHASE I & 11)
BE IT ORDINED, by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret, as follows:
Lion 1.
a) The Borough of Carteret Planning Board, after due consideration and in conformance
with the Local Housing and Redevelopment Law, (N.1.S.A. 40A:12A -1, etseq.,
"Redevelopment Law'), has recommended the adoption of the Federal Boulevard
Redevelopment Plan prepared by Beacon Planning & Consulting Services, LLC dated
September 11, 2006, ( "Redevelopment Plan ") for both the Federal Boulevard
Redevelopment Area (hereafter referred to as the "FBRA -Phase I ") established by
Resolution No. 06 -47, and the Federal Boulevard Redevelopment Area -Phase II (the
FBRA -Phase II "), established by Resolution No. 06 -212, (collectively the "FBRA"), all as
shown on Figure 2 of the Redevelopment; and
b) The Redevelopment Plan proposes development guidelines for the FBRA as set forth in
Section 3.0 etseq. of the Redevelopment Plan; and
c) The Redevelopment Plan is in furtherance of the goals and objections of the Borough of
with respect to the FBRA and the Redevelopment Law•, and
d) The Borough Council of the Borough of Carteret has reviewed the Redevelopment Plan
and held a public hearing on the Redevelopment Plan to receive the comments of the
public and interested parties; and
e) The Redevelopment Plan will be attached hereto as Exhibit A upon adoption of this
Ordinance and is presently on file with the Borough Clerk's Office for review.
Section 2. The Redevelopment Plan is adopted as the official redevelopment plan for the
FBRA, In accordance with the Local Housing and Redevelopment Law.
Section 3. The zoning district map of the Borough's Land Development Ordinance Is hereby
amended to reflect the applicability of the Redevelopment Plan as a new,
replacement zoning district for the FBRA and the Borough's Land Development
Ordinance as it affects the FBRA is hereby superseded by the Redevelopment Plan
to the extent set forth therein.
