HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 23-89 Authorizing the purchase of asphalt from Central Paving Company for Wanda, Floyd and Boydstun streets RESOLUTION 23-89 WHEREAS, on July 27, 1989, Valley County's cold asphalt plant had not yet been delivered compromising the city's 1989 street paving plant which included use of this equipment, and WHEREAS, on that same date, Central Paving Company had a hot asphalt plant set up and in operation within the city and had a capacity to produce a limited quantity of street asphalt, and WHEREAS, the likelihood of abandonment of the city's 1989 street paving program was imminent, and WHEREAS, the McCall City Council, by motion, duly seconded and approved, on July 27th of their regular meeting, on the request of the Public Works Director and City Administrator, authorized the purchase of "in place" asphalt from Central Paving Company for Wanda, Floyd and Boydstun streets, which had been previously prepared for paving. THEREFORE, in the interests of efficiency and accomplishing the city's mission to improve streets and roadways, maintain safety and reduce maintenance costs, this project was not bid as required by Idaho Code 50-341(C) . FURTHER, by adoption of this Resolution, the bill for $24,585.48 reflecting unit costs of $34.00, $36.00, and $36.50 per ton, which are competitive prices substantially below paving prices secured by the city in previous years, shall be paid.
