AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE ABSOCOLD FOUNDATION
WHEREAS, the Absocold Foundation has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, the Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant application to develop a program to send a group of students to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama as a reward for academic
excellence and to help build leadership skills.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Absocold Foundation to develop a program to send a group of students to Space Camp in Huntsville,
Alabama as a reward for academic excellence and to help build leadership skills.
The Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded to the Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated to develop a program to send a group of students to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama as a reward for
academic excellence and to help build leadership skills.
Passed and adopted this 21st day of August, 2000, by the Common Council for the City of Richmond, Indiana.
