RESOLUTION NO. 1992-9
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE
OF SURPLUS REAL ESTATE
(FORMER CONRAIL RIGHT-OF-WAY)
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle is the owner of the
following described real estate located in Greencastle Township,
Greencastle, Indiana:
Situate in the State of Indiana, County of Putnam and
being a part of the Northeast quarter of Section 29,
Township 14 North, Range 4 West of the Second Principal
Meridian, more particularly described to-wit:
Commencing at a point on the North line of the
Northeast quarter of Section 29, Township 14 North,
Range 4 West, which point is 225. 0 feet West of the
Northeast corner of said Northeast quarter; thence
South 00 degrees 12 minutes West 275. 00 feet to the
Southwest corner of a 0. 79 acre tract described in a
deed recorded in Deed Record 165, page 619 in the
office of the Recorder of Putnam County, Indiana;
thence South 89 degrees 48 minutes East 125. 0 feet to
the Southeast corner of said 0. 79 acre tract; thence
South 00 degrees 02 minutes West 315.48 feet to the
Southwest corner of a 0. 80 acre tract described in a
deed recorded in Deed Record 165, page 427 in the
aforesaid Recorder' s office, which point is on the
Northerly right-of-way of the former Conrail Railroad;
thence Southwesterly 13 . 96 feet on a curve to the left
with the North right-of-way line of the aforesaid
railroad to a point on the South right-of-way line of a
1. 805 acre tract conveyed to the City of Greencastle in
Deed Record 194 , page 218 in the aforesaid Recorder's
office, for Veterans Memorial Highway right-of-way and
the true point of beginning of the real estate herein
described; thence with the South right-of-way line of
said highway South 83 degrees 56 minutes East 54 . 8
feet; thence North 87 degrees 10 minutes East 60. 2
feet, more or less, to the East line of the aforesaid
Northeast quarter; thence leaving the South right-of-
way line of the aforesaid highway South 57 feet, more
or less, to the Southeasterly right-of-way line of the
former Conrail Railroad; thence with said Southeasterly
right-of-way line Southwesterly 1855. 4 feet, more or
less, on a curve to the left having a radius of 2376. 26
feet and subtended by a long chord bearing South 45
degrees 32 minutes West 1808 . 7 feet; thence South 23
degrees 10 minutes West 732 feet, more or less, to the
South line of the Northeast quarter; thence Westerly
41/ 107. 8 feet, more or less, with said South line to the
Northwesterly right-of-way line of the aforesaid
Conrail Railroad; thence North 23 degrees 10 minutes
East 772 .4 feet; thence Northeasterly 1849. 77 feet on a
curve to the right having a radius of 2476. 26 feet and
subtended by a long chord bearing North 44 degrees 34
minutes East 1807. 0 feet, more or less, to the point of
beginning, containing 6. 05 acres.
and;
WHEREAS, said real estate consists of all the former Conrail
Railroad right-of-way conveyed to the City of Greencastle located
in the Northeast Quarter, Section 29, Township 14 North, Range 4
West line South of the right-of-way line of the Veterans Memorial
Highway.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Greencastle has
determined that the said real estate is surplus to the City of
Greencastle and should be sold pursuant to the provisions of I.C.
36-1-11-4 .
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the
City of Greencastle hereby approves the sale of the above
described real estate pursuant to I.C. 36-1-11-4 .

right-of-way line of the aforesaid railroad to a point on the South right-of-
way line of a 1.805 acre tract conveyed to the City of Greencastle in Deed
Record 194, page 218 in the aforesaid Recorder's office, for Veterans Memorial
Highway right-of-way and the true point of beginning of the real estate herein
described; thence with the South right-of-way line of said highway South 83
degrees 56 minutes East 54.8 feet; thence North 87 degrees 10 minutes East 60.2
feet, more or less, to the East line of the aforesaid Northeast quarter; thence
leaving the South right-of-way line of the aforesaid highway South 57 feet,
more or less, to the Southeasterly right-of-way line of the former Conrail
Railroad; thence with said Southeasterly right-of-way line Southwesterly 1855.4
feet, more or less, on a curve to the left having a radius of 2376.26 feet and '
subtended by a long chord bearing South 45 degrees 32 minutes West 1808.7 feet;
thence South 23 degrees 10 minutes West 732 feet, more or less, to the South
line of the Northeast quarter; thence Westerly 107.8 feet, more or less, with
said South line to the Northwesterly right-of-way line of the aforesaid Conrail
Railroad; thence North 23 degrees 10 minutes East 772.4 feet; thence
Northeasterly 1849.77 feet on a curve to the right having a radius of 2476.26
feet and subtended by a long chord bearing North 44 degrees 34 minutes East . .

The above description was prepared from records on file in the Putnam County
courthouse and was not surveyed by the undersigned.
The intension of this description is to describe all of the former Conrail
Railroad right-of-way that was conveyed to the City of Greencastle located in
the Northeast quarter of Section 29, Township 14 North, Range 4 West and lying
South of the South right-of-way line of the Veterans Memorial Highway.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEFERMENT OF PAYMENTS
LOAN AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF GREENCASTLE
AND MAIN STREET GREENCASTLE, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle, Indiana, adopted an amended plan for the use of recaptured
funds by the passage of Resolution No. 1988-28, " A Resolution Approving Amended Plan For Use of
Recaptured Funds from TechnoTrim, Inc. Loan" at its regular meeting held June 14, 1988; and,
WHEREAS, Main Street Greencastle, Inc. applied for and the City of Greencastle lent to Main Street
Greencastle, Inc., the sum of Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000) from the recaptured funds from the loan
to TechnoTrim, Inc. (Grant II 86-009) for use in renovating the Old Opera House, subject to all terms and
conditions of the Amended Plan for Use of Recaptured Funds from Techno-Trim, Inc. Loan as approved
by Resolution 1988-28; and
WHEREAS, Main Street Greencastle, Inc. has requested that the payments on said loan be deferred
for the period of three (3) years, said period beginning on March 1, 1992 and ending on February 28,
1995, due to delays in beginning the project.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle that payments
on the loan from the City of Greencastle to Main street Greencastle, Inc. be deferred for a a period of
three (3) years, said period to begin on March 1,1992, and end on February 28, 1995, with all other terms
and conditions set forth in the Loan Agreement, Promissory Note, and Real Estate Mortgage between
Main Street Greencastle, Inc. and the City of Greencastle to remain the same.
PASSED AND RESOLVED THIS 12TH DAY OF MAY, 1992.
