HomeMy Public PortalAbout1973-011Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO, 73- ti RESOLUTION ORDERING THE RAZING AND REMOVAL OF A BURNED OUT BUILDING LOCATED ON BLOCK 16, INDEPENDENCE BEACH. WHEREAS, Jack Lehtinen is the record owner of property legally described as Block 16, Independence Beach, Hennepin County upon which a burned out dance hall is presently located and Jerry Zaffke may have an interest in said property; and WHEREAS, on May 23, 1973 Russell Bouley Jr., Building Inspector of Medina, inspected such property and found that parts of the building had been torn down and piles of lumber, debris and nails were scattered about the premises; and WHEREAS, the basement and floor covering remain, said floor covering being partially burned and partially rotted and subject to immediate collapse; and WHEREAS, the property is subject to entry by children of the community; and WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Medina finds that the property above described is inadequately maintained and in a state of extreme disrepair; constitutes a hazard to public safety and public health; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Jack Lehtinen and Jerry Zaffke shall be ordered to raze and remove the remaining structure located on Block 16, Independence Beach, Hennepin County, Minnesota in accordance with Minnesota Statutes 463.15 - 463.26 on the grounds that said building is a hazardous building within the meaning of said Statute; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Jack Lehtinen and Jerry Zaffke, their heirs and assigns, must comply with this order within 20 days from the date of service thereof upon them or within 20 days, file an answer thereto, or a motion for the summary enforcementof this order will be taken by the Village of Medina in the Hennepin County District Court. )/2-41 Mayor Clerk The motion fo t adoption f the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member upo vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same, '4-ala-awrtlwtilawraoV�.irawrsw=faarriNa►:.:�amt. ;a:;.•a2iw.Ai:�TvtMaY6e«—,..'ew:�x�st'"a.,:a:�s0iii'.:y a'•• "-.
