COMMON COUNCIL
CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA
REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT
OF THE GREENCASTLE SOUTHEAST ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AREA
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Redevelopment Commission("Commission")did on January
22, 1993, adopt a declaratory resolution ("Declaratory Resolution") establishing the Greencastle
Southeast Economic Development Area ("Areal') as an economic development area under IC 36-
7-14 and an allocation area within the Area ("Allocation Area") and confirmed the Declaratory
Resolution on May 24, 1993, after conducting a public hearing;
WHEREAS, the Commission, on November 2, 1995, after a public hearing, did adopt
a resolution amending the Declaratory Resolution ("Amendatory Resolution") to reduce the Area
and the Allocation Area and amending the Economic Development Plan approved by the
Declaratory Resolution ("Amended Plan");
WHEREAS. IC 36- 14-a1(c) requires that any establishment of an economic
development area be approved by the Common Council; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has reviewed the Declaratory Resolution as amended
by the Amendatory Resolution, the Commission's Amended Plan approved by the Amendatory
Resolution and the written order of the Greencastle Plan Commission regarding the Declaratory
Resolution and the Economic Development Plan:
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLV1 n BYE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GREENCASTLE. INDIANA THAT:
(1) The Common Council hereby finds and determines that it will be in the best
interests of the City to establish an economic development area in the area known as the
Greencastle Southeast Economic Development Area as described in the Amendatory Resolution.
(2) The establishment of the Greencastle Southeast Economic Development Area as
described in the Amendatory Resolution is hereby approved.
(3) This resolution shall be effective front and after passage and approval by the
Mayor.
