A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
THE CREATION OF A FUND TO PURCHASE
CairnslRlS THERMAL IMAGING EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Fire Department should be equipped with CairnslRlS
Thermal Imaging equipment cable of locating persons in hostile smoke-filled environment; and,
WHEREAS, such equipment will cost in excess of $25,000.00 which sums are not
available from regular city budgets; and,
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Fire Department Personnel have initiated a fundraising
program for the purchase of such equipment, and,
WHEREAS, such fundraising program should be approved and endorsed by the
Greencastle Common Council.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Greencastle Fire Department
Personnel be authorized and encouraged to undertake a Fundraising endeavor to purchase
CaimeslRlS Thermal Imaging equipment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Clerk establish a separate account for
the deposit of funds donated and collected for such project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT any funds collected in excess of those required
for the IRIS project be used for the purchase of other emergency equipment designated by the
Fire Department personnel.
PASSED AND RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle at its
regular meeting this 14th day of May, 1996.
