A RESOLUTION REQESTING 911
LOGISTICAL AND FINANCIAL ANALYSIS
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle requires 24 hour dispatch service for the benefit of
its citizens, and
WHEREAS, the present City dispatch serves the needs of various City departments
including Police, Fire, Sewer, Water and Street department, and
WHEREAS, Putnam County has heretofore created a 911 dispatch service, serving
various areas of the county, and
WHEREAS, the county 911 dispatch service is funded by assessments to telephone
subscribers, and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the City of Greencastle to minimize any duplication
of services.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Executive requests of the 911
Central Dispatch Board, an estimate of costs and an evaluation of the services available to the
City that could be provided by the 911 service.
PASSED AND RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle at its
