HomeMy Public PortalAbout1974-004RESOLUTION NO. 74-- 11
WHEREAS the various of leagues of municipalities have recently
found it necessary to raise their dues dramatically; and
WHEREAS new, higher dues in some cases have made it impossible
for smaller municipalities to belong to all of the various leagues;
and
WHEREAS the interests of the Suburban League of Municipalities
may be quite different at times from those of the Minnesota League
of Municipalities; and
WHEREAS it is necessary and desirable to preserve freedom of
association for all municipalities;
NOW, THEREFOR:, BE IT RESOLVED that the Medina City Council
strongly disapproves of any attempt to force members of the Suburban
League to join any other organization, and views any such attempt
as an action that could threaten the stability of the Suburban
League.
Passed this 5th day of March, 1974, by the Medina City Council.
