A RESOLUTION: ENDORSE THE APPLICATION FOR THE VIRGINIA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FISCAL YEARS 2027
AND 2028 REVENUE SHARING PROGRAM FUNDING FOR
MILLING AND PAVING
WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Revenue Sharing
Program provides funding to local governments to construct, improve, or maintain the highway
systems in that jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the Revenue Sharing Program provides for 50% of the eligible project
costs, with the local government responsible for the remainder of the project costs; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Transportation is accepting 2023 applications
for Revenue Sharing funds for Fiscal Years 2027 and 2028; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg desires to submit an application for an estimated
allocation of $1,024,407 of Virginia Depaitment of Transportation Fiscal Years 2027 and 2028
Revenue Sharing Program funds for Town -wide Milling and Paving; and
WHEREAS, the estimated $1,024,407 is subject to change, pending VDOT review of
the Revenue Sharing application; and
WHEREAS, the Town -wide Milling and Paving is in the Town's Fiscal Year 2024 -
2029 Maintenance Budget; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg hereby supports this application for an allocation
of funds through the Virginia Department of Transportation Fiscal Years 2027 and 2028
Revenue Sharing Program.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:

AND 2028 REVENUE SHARING PROGRAM FUNDING FOR
MILLING AND PAVING
1. The Town Council supports this application for the Virginia Department of
Transportation Fiscal Years 2027-28 Revenue Sharing for the Town -wide Milling
and Paving.
2. The Town of Leesburg requests the Commonwealth Transportation Board to
establish a project for the construction of Town -wide Milling and Paving.
3. The Town Council of the Town of Leesburg hereby commits to fund its local share of
preliminary engineering, right-of-way, and construction (as applicable) of the
project(s) under agreement with the Virginia Department of Transportation in
accordance with the project financial document(s).
4. The Town of Leesburg Town Manager is authorized to execute all agreements
and/or addendums for any approved projects with the Virginia Depailnuent of
Transportation.
