A RESOLUTION ALLOWING ACCE

A CONTROLLED ACCESS HIGHWAY
WHEREAS the City of Greencastle has been Petitioned by Lone
Star Industries, Inc . for access to a controlled access highway,
more specifically on Southern Highway (a/k/a Veterans Memorial
Highway, a/k/a State Road 240) between Cemetery Road and South
Jackson Street (a/k/a Manhattan Road) .
WHEREAS such Southern Highway was designated a Controlled
Access Highway under Resolution 1989-10 , by the Common Council of
the City of Greencastle on the 27th day of April, 1989 .
WHEREAS the City of Greencastle desires to allow access to
this controlled access highway for the sole purpose of economic
development.
WHEREAS the City of Greencastle desires to allow access to
this controlled access highway for use by truck traffic only.
WHEREAS Lone Star Industries , Inc . shall provide all
engineering and construction costs on said access .
WHEREAS Lone Star Industries, Inc . shall provide a study for
the purpose of signalization of the access, if said study is
warranted by Lone Star Industries , Inc. or the City of
Greencastle, based upon traffic volume generated by Lone Star
Industries, Inc .
WHEREAS Lone Star Industries, Inc. shall provide all
engineering and construciton costs on the signalization, if
warranted.
WHEREAS all construction for the access, and signalization
if required, and shall conform to Indiana Department of
Transportation (3R) standards .
WHEREAS the construction of the access on this controlled
, -`, access highway shall meet the approval of the City of Greencastle
Engineer.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that access to a controlled access
highway, more specifically on Southern Highway (a/k/a Veterans
Memorial Highway, a/k/a State Road 240) between Cemetery Road and
South Jackson Street (a/k/a Manhattan Road) be granted to Lone
Star Industries , Inc .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that access to this controlled access
highway is hereby granted to Lone Star Industries , Inc . for truck
traffic only and for the sole purpose of economic development.
PASSED AND RESOLVED this day of 1998, by
the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana.
