A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE
n OF INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT FUNDS
(Funding the Greencastle/Putnam County Development Center)
WHEREAS, the Greencastle/Putnam County Development Center,
Inc . has requested a matching fund grant of $30, 000 . 00 for the
1998 year from the interest earned on the Industrial Development
Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Greencastle/Putnam County Development_ Center,
Inc . continues to play a key role in attracting new business and
industry, retaining and assisting business and industry; and
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Citizens Advisory Commission for
Industrial Development, pursuant to I .C. 36-7-13-6 (C) , on June 3,
1998, approved the requested expenditure of Industrial
Development Funds for the Support of the Greencastle/ Putnam
County Development Center, Inc .
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that:
1 . The Greencastle Common Council authorizes the
expenditure of $30 , 000 . 00 per annum - $15 , 000 . 00 payable
immediately and October 1st - for the 1998 year in matching funds
(Greencastle/Putnam County Development Center shall raise an
equivalent sum from other sources ) from the Industrial
Development Fund.
2 . That the Common Council recommends the Greencastle/
Putnam County Development Center change the By-Laws to include a
City Council representative as an automatic appointment to the
Executive Board of the Greencastle/Putnam County Development
Center.
3 . That the Common Council recommends the Greencastle/
Putnam County Development Center change the By-Laws stating that
no employee of the Greencastle/Putnam County Development Center
shall be a voting member of any board or commission related to
the City of Greencastle in which there could pose a conflict of
interest with the goals of the Greencastle/Putnam County
Development Center.
