RESOLUTION NO. 1999-8
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONVEYANCE OF REAL ESTATE
FROM CITY OF GREENCASTLE TO THE GREENCASTLE
COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle is the owner of certain property described herein;
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle has leased said property to the Greencastle
Community School Corporation per a lease agreement dated June 16, 1947;
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle desires to transfer ownership of said real property,
without consideration, to the Greencastle Community School Corporation;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Community School Corporation desires to accept transfer
n of ownership of said real property, and agrees to hold the City of Greencastle harmless for all
existing conditions upon the property; and,
WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Indiana, specifically Indiana Code 36-1-11-8,
provide for the transfer of property between governmental entities.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE
transfer said real property by Quitclaim Deed to the Board of School Trustees of the Greencastle
Community School Corporation. Said property is defined as follows:
Beginning at a point on the west line of Vine Street 351.82 feet north of the north
line of Liberty Street; thence west 110.40 feet; thence north 62 feet; thence east
110.40 feet; thence south 62 feet to the place of beginning; the same being 62
feet of even width off of the north end of real estate conveyed to the City at Deed
Record 101, Page 423, in the office of the Recorder of Putnam County, Indiana.
Greencastle Community School Corporation shall assume and be responsible for all unpaid taxes,
special assessments, zoning and plat restrictions, rights-of-way, and pertinent easements of
record.
