HomeMy Public PortalAbout19-1999-35 �, ( F r f 'fw RESOLUTION 1999-35 0 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FUNDING OF MAIN STREET GREENCASTLE FROM INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT FUNDS WHEREAS, Main Street Greencastle enhances our community's identity and preserves its heritage while fostering a center of activity and ensuring economic strength and economic restructuring. WHEREAS, investing in Main Street and its revitalization will have economic benefits to the entire community, including: strengthening and encouraging small, locally-owned businesses; improving property values; increasing tax collections;promoting tourism; and aiding in industrial recruitment. WHEREAS, Main Street Greencastle has requested funding of$7,500.00 (Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars)for each of the years 2000, 2001 and 2002, for a total of $22,500.00 (Twenty-two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars) from the interest earned on the Industrial Development Fund, and WHEREAS,the Citizens Advisory Committee for Industrial Development at its meeting on October 6, 1999 passed Resolution 1999-3 authorizing this disbursement. • NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the Common Council approve the above expenditure of Industrial Development Funds as approved by CACFID Resolution No. 1999-3. Jones, Cler - .surer CACFID ' RESOLUTION NO. 1999-3 CN ' dE0 011 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FUNDING OF MAIN STREET GREENCASTLE FROM INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT FUNDS WHEREAS, Main Street Greencastle enhances our community's identity and preserves its heritage while fostering a center of activity and ensuring economic strength and economic restructuring. WHEREAS, Main Street Greencastle has requested funding of$7,500.00(Seven-thousand, five-hundred dollars)for each of the years 2000, 2001 and 2002, for a total of$22,500.00(Twenty- two thousand, five-hundred dollars) from the interest earned on the Industrial Development Fund, said amount to be paid in three equal annual installments by January 15' of each year. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMISSION FOR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT approve the above expenditure of Industrial Development Funds as set out above. PASSED AND RESOLVED by the Citizens Advisory Commission for Industrial Development at its regular meeting this 6th day of October 1999.
