Councilman �/'s2012:4?,4/ introduced the following resolution
and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 74/
RESOLUTION DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE CITY TO BE
ABANDONED AND NO LONGER USED FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a leasehold interest in the following described property
was devised to the City of Medina by that certain agreement between John
Wier, as Grantor, and Michael Crowe, Peter Shumaker and Jerry Theis, Super-
visors of the City (formerly the Town) of Medina, as Grantees, dated May 9,
1892, and filed of record in the office of the Hennepin County, Minnesota,
Register of Deeds, on March 18, 1893, as Doc. No. 193653 in Book 58 of
Miscellaneous Records at page 390;
South one-half (1/2) of the NE 1/4, and the South
one-half (1/2) of the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4, except
road, Sec. 16, Twp. 118 N., Range 23W., Hennepin
County, Minnesota.
and
WHEREAS, said Agreement provided that at any time the subject property
and any buildings thereon should be abandoned and not used for town or other
public purposes, then and in that event the subject land and buildings shall
revert to the possession of the said Grantor, his successors and assigns, as
fully and completely as though the said Agreement had not been made; and
WHEREAS, the City h«f- been advised by the City Attorney that the pre-
sent record owner of the subject property is Christine C. Piper; and
WHEREAS, said land was used from 1893 to 1974 for village (formerly
town) hall purposes but no longer is used for such purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of

Medina, a Minnesota municipal corporation, that said Council declares the
above described property and the building thereon to be abandoned and no
longer used for City (formerly town and village) purposes; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by said Council that the proper and duly auth-
orized officials of the City be, and they hereby are, authorized and directed
to execute and deliver a Quit Claim Deed to the said property in favor of
Christine C. Piper.
