HomeMy Public PortalAbout1975-003Member/444r / &i.6 introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. %S- .3 RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR HAMEL ROAD SANITARY SEWER AND WATER EXTENSION WHEREAS, pursuant to proper notice duly given as required by law, the City Council of the City of Medina has met and heard and passed upon all objections to the proposed assessment for the installation of sanitary sewer and water main along Hamel Road between Tower Drive and Hunter Drive, making such amend- ments to the proposed assessment as to it seemed just and equitable; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota: 1. Such proposed assessment, and any amendments made thereto, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference, is hereby accepted and shall constitute the special assessment against the lands named therein, and each tract of land included therein is hereby found to be benefited by the public improvement in the amount of the assessment levied against it. 2. Such assessment shall be payable in equal annual installments extending over a period of o?O years, the first installments thereon to be due and payable on or before the first Monday in January, 1976 and shall bear interest at the rate of 7 percent per annum from the date of the adoption of this resolution. To the first install- ment shall be added interest on the entire assessment from the effective date of this resolution until December 31, 1975. To each subsequent installment, when due, shall be added interest for one year on all unpaid installments. 3. The owner of any property so assessed may, at any time prior to certification of the assessment to the County Auditor, pay the whole of the assessment on such property, with interest accrued to the date of payment, to the City Clerk, except that no interest shall be charged if the entire assessment is paid within 30 days from the effective date of this resolution; such owner may, at any time thereafter, but prior to November 15 of each year, pay to the Finance Director of Hennepin County, the entire amount of the assessment remaining unpaid, with interest accrued to December 31 of the year in which such payment is made. 4. On or before the i day of r, , 1975, the City Clerk shall transmit a certified duplicate of this assessment roll and accompanying resolution to the Auditor of Hennepin County to be extended on the proper tax lists of said County, and such assess- ments shall be collected and paid over in the same manner as other municipal taxes. CERTIFICATION OF ASSESSMENT ROLL Wayne Johnson, County Auditor, County of Hennepin, State of Minnesota This is to certify that the attached list embraces all unpaid assessments levied by the City Council of the City of Medina on the 18th day of February, 1975, under Minnesota Statutes 5429. 011 through 5429.111 for the installation of sanitary sewer and water main on Hamel Road between Tower Drive and Hunter Drive. The assessments are payable over a period of c--4 0 years and are to be extended on the proper tax lists of Hennepin County each year as required under Minnesota Statute 5429. 061.
