RESOLUTION NO. 3L
RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA,
ADOPTING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of Greencastle, Indiana, did on October 1, 2001, hold a public
hearing to consider adoption of the herein attached Comprehensive Plan for the city, and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission did consider said Comprehensive Plan and provide the
opportunity for all remonstrances to be heard, and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission found that this plan meets the requirements of IC 36-7-4-500,
and that adoption of this plan to be in the best interests of the city, and
WHEREAS, the Common Council finds that it is in the best interests of the city to adopt said plan,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council hereby adopts the attached as
the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Greencastle, Indiana.
This resolution shall be effective from and after its passage.

RESOLUTION NO. 2001-
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
WHEREAS, The Greencastle Plan Commission has authority to adopt a Comprehensive
Plan, pursuant to I.C. 36-7-4-500 et seq., which requires that the Comprehensive Plan must contain
the following elements:
(1) A statement of objectives for the future development of the jurisdiction.
(2) A statement of policy for the land use development of the jurisdiction.
(3) A statement of policy for the development of public ways, public places, public
lands, public structures, and public utilities;
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, attached hereto,
meets the above requirements;
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, did seek and
consider public input and on August 21, 2001, did hold a legally advertised public hearing on the
proposed Comprehensive Plan of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, until all objections and
remonstrances were heard; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission found that said Comprehensive Plan is in the best
interests of the citizens of the City of Greencastle, Indiana.
NOW THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The Plan Commission of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, recommends to the Common Council of
the City of Greencastle, the adoption of said Comprehensive Plan.

TRANSMITTAL OF COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO LEGISLATIVE BODY
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, has been given
careful study to the requirements of the city for the establishment of a Comprehensive Plan and,
WHEREAS, said plan has been submitted to a properly advertised Public Hearing, which
hearing was held at City Hall on the lst day of October, 2001, and all suggestions and criticisms
have been given careful study and consideration,
WHEREAS, the Plan was approved by the Plan Commission on the /s day of
Dthic,e__, 2001.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said Plan be recommended to the
Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, for passage, and that the President of the
Commission is hereby directed to certify a copy of said Plan to the Common Council at their next
meeting for consideration and
passage.
