Resolution Recognizing the Accomplishments of the Greencastle Civic League
and the Volunteers Who Gave the Citizens of Greencastle and Nis Visitors
the Emerald Palace
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Civic League determined the need for an imaginative place for children to play
and create in Robe Ann Park; and
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Civic League spent countless hours putting together a design, accumulating
donations, and gathering volunteers; and
WHEREAS, with incredible organization and a vision of multiple scenarios,a volunteer workforce of 1,105
was directed with great skill; and
WHEREAS, the rains came,the winds came, lightening came,hail came and the rains came again.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Putnam
County, Indiana, declares its gratitude for the Civic League's diligent work to provide the citizens of
Greencastle and its visitors the Emerald Palace community-built playground,and declares its appreciation for
the countless volunteers who, once again, demonstrated that the people of the Greencastle community are its
greatest resource.
