Resolution Recogn ing the Accomplishments of the`Volunteers
Who Gave the Citizens of Greencastle anti Its Visitors
the Emerald Palace
WHEREAS, citizens of Greencastle and Putnam County determined the need for a unique,imaginative,safe
and convenient place for children to play; and
WHEREAS, volunteers from all over the County did respond to the call for help to assemble and build this
playground for children; and
WHEREAS, the incredible 1,105 volunteers did,in fact,with great skill and effort work long hours in rain,
wind, lightening, hail and more rain to complete this project; and
WHEREAS, the community spirit and pride that all the assembled volunteers exhibited will not soon be
forgotten and will long be remembered as an example of what citizens can accomplish by
working together in a spirit of cooperation.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Putnam
County, Indiana, declares its gratitude for the volunteers who worked diligently to provide the citizens of
Greencastle and its visitors the Emerald Palace community-built playground, and who, once again,
demonstrated that the people of the Greencastle community are its greatest resource.
