~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE ~ I
~ ' ~ APPRbPRIATION OF SIX THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS FROM THE , f
UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND BALANCE FOR THE 1999 YOUTH BASEBQLL CLINIC k,

,~ WHEREAS, The Crty of Lynwood has one of the most outstanding youth baseball prograriis in all ~
. of southeastern Los Angeles; and ~ ~ '

" _ • WHEREAS, The Youth Baseball Clinic is an ideal method to kick=off the baseball season which , - ~- .
is coriducted in conjunction with the Lynwood Sports Association; and ~
. ' " . . f
' WHEREAS, The clinic will have two (2) celebrity hosts including Mr. James Bishop and Mr. ~
. ' Mario "Tony" Miranda, both of which grew up here in the City of Lynwood and went on to flourishing '
careers in Major League Baseball; and. • ' , ~ ~ 1. ~

WHEREAS, The Youth Baseball Program serves hundreds of Lynwood youth between the ages ' '
of five (5) and sixteen (16) years of age. .- ~ ~ ~.

~ WHEREAS, . This is a program which:was not funded as part of the 1998/99 fiscal budget; and • ~'~
~ ~ . ,

WHEREAS; The projected operating budget for this program is six thousand - six hundred ~ ~,
: dotlars ($6,600.00). . !

. ` NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of.Lynwood'does hereby find, proclaim, order ~,
. and resolve as follows: ~ .i .
, Section 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carryout any necessary transactions .~,
