The proposed maintenance includes board for board replacement of the decking and stairs and removal of approximately two feet of the most seaward portion of the deck and seating area, including the pilings that currently rest on the rip -rap. Proposed work will be done from the beach using hand tools. No impacts to the dune area is proposed. The Department does not object to the project as proposed. Authorized maintenance includes the replacement of decking, handrails and stairs and the removal of approximately two feet of the most seaward deck and seating area and two pilings. No enlargement to the original footprint is authorized. The proposed work will be done using hand tools only and no stock piling of materials is allowed in the dunes. No motorized vehicles are authorized on the beach. No dune vegetation is to be disturbed. You are authorized by the Department to begin the project. This Letter of Permission is not meant to exempt the above referenced activity from future environmental laws. No construction materials may be disposed of or stored in jurisdictional areas.
