It is understood that if this permit is granted the builder will at all times comply with the zoning, subdivision, flood control, building, fire,
soil and sedimentation, wetlands, marshlands protection and shore protection ordinances and codes whether local, state or federal, including
all environmental laws and regulations when applicable, subsequent owners should be informed that any alterations to the property must be
approved by the issuance of another building permit. Permit holder agrees to hold the City of Tybee Island harmless on any construction
covered by this permit.
This permit must be posted in a conspicuous location in the front of building and protected from the weather. If this permit is not posted
work will be stopped. The building contractor will replace curb paving and gutter broken during construction. This permit will be voided
unless work has begun within six months of the date of issuance.

I understand that the lot must be staked out and that the stakes will be inspected to ensure that the
setback requirements are met. I understand also that a certified plot plan showing elevation must
be attached to this application and that an as -built elevation certification is due as soon as the
habitable floor level is established. Drainage: I realize that I must ensure the adequacy of
drainage of this property so that surrounding property is in no way adversely affected. I accept
responsibility for any corrective action that may be necessary to restore drainage impaired by this
permitted construction.

RE: Letter of Permission, Maintenance of a Grandfathered seating platform, Tybee Lights Condominiums,
Atlantic Ocean, Tybee Island, Chatham County, Georgia
Dear Mr. Adams:
This Letter of Permission (LOP) acknowledges your recent request to maintain the existing elevated seating
platform on the beach seaward of Tybee Lights Condominiums, Tybee Island, Chatham County, Georgia. The
proposed maintenance includes board for board replacement of the decking and stairs and removal of
approximately two feet of the most seaward portion of the deck and seating area, including the pilings that
currently rest on the rip -rap. Proposed work will be done from the beach using hand tools. No impacts to the
dune area is proposed.
The Department does not object to the project as proposed. Authorized maintenance includes the replacement of
decking, handrails and stairs and the removal of approximately two feet of the most seaward deck and seating
area and two pilings. No enlargement to the original footprint is authorized. The proposed work will be done
using hand tools only and no stock piling of materials is allowed in the dunes. No motorized vehicles are
authorized on the beach. No dune vegetation is to be disturbed. You are authorized by the Department to begin
the project.
This Letter of Permission is not meant to exempt the above referenced activity from future environmental laws.
No construction materials may be disposed of or stored in jurisdictional areas. Any incidental impacts
associated with this project must beYeefified by fully cestorin areas-td their pre. onstriictiori Topographic and- —.-
vegetative states. This project must comply with all other Federal, State, and local statutes, ordinances and
regulations.
