A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CLTY OF
LYNWOOD AWARDING THE CITYVI/IDE TREE CLEARANCE '
TRIMMING CONTRACT TO CALIFORNIA WESTERN ARBORISTS, •
LNC.; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT.
. ~ AGREEMENT; AND AUTHOR'iZiNG THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS
• DESIGNEE TO..MAKE THE NECESSARY FUNDS
" APPROPRIATION•AND TRANSFER.
1NHEREAS, City Council desires to clean up the City in an: effective and systematic
" manner; and ""
WHEREAS, City Council has initiated the implementation of the Citywide .
,Cleanup Program to achieve said objective; and' .
WHEREAS, said program requires the_ citywide tree clearance trimming services -
to provide clearance for the vehicular and pedestrian traffic; and ;
• WHEREAS, California Western Arborists, inc. can provide said services for
. $337,550; and
WHEREAS; the City,'s current budget only provides $100,000 for tree trimming
- .services, therefore additional funds are necessary; and
' WHEREAS,. staff has identified unappropriated General Fund that can be used
for said services:.
NO1N, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
proclaim, order and resolve as follows: _
r~-- Section 1. That the Citywide Tree Clea'rance•Trimming contract be awarded to
" ~ ~ California Western Arborists,. Inc.., for $337,550. -
Section 2. That the .Mayor is authorized to execute the contract agreement with
California Western Arborists, lnc. ~ •
Section 3. That nothing in this resolution shall be construed as reinstating that
cerfain agreement between the City of Lynwood and California Western Arborists which is '
' currently the subject of'litigation and negotiation by the City Attorney.
. ~ Section 4. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to make the
followingfunds appropriation•and transfer: '
