HomeMy Public PortalAbout1999.027 (03-02-99)RESOLUTION NO. 99.27 _~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ORDERING THE ,VACATION AND ABANDONMENT FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES THE FIRST ALLEY EAST OF FIRST AVENUE BETWEEN JOSEPHINE STREET AND THE I-105 FREEWAY j I WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood did on the 2 February, 1999, adopted Resolution No. 99-12, declaring its intention to vacatedthe first alley east of First Avenue .between Josephine Street and the I-105 Freeway, in the City of Lynwood, as hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, notices of said vacation have been published and posted in the time, form, and manner required by law; and WHEREAS, a ,public hearing on the matter was held on the 2nd day of March, 1999, as prescribed by law. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood as follows: Section 1. That the following described. alley easement is unnecessary for present or prospective public use, and that the public interest, necessity and convenience require that the City Council of said City hereby order the vacation. and abandonment of said alley easement. That portion of the first alley east of First Avenue bounded by the westerly ~ lines of Lots 1,2 and 3; southerly right-of-way,bf the Glen Anderson (I-105) Freeway; easterly lines. of Lots 12, 13, and 14; and the northerly right-of-way of Josephine Street (formerly- Santa, Ana .Boulevard) as shown on Map of Tract No. 8716, in the City of Lynwood, County of Los Angeles, State of California, Miscellaneous Records Book 3, page 399 of maps in the office of the Los Angeles County Recorder. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lyriwood does hereby determine that the public convenience and necessity require that an easement. be retained for construction and maintenance of utility lines within the limits of alley vacation as. described in Section 1. Section 3. That, the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood shall cause a certified copy of said order to be recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County. Section 4.
