RESOLUTION NO. % J - 3 /
RESOLUTION DISAPPROVING METROPOLITAN TRANSIT COMMISSION
TAKE-OVER OF THE MEDICINE LAKE BUS COMPANY
WHEREAS, the Medicine Lake Bus Company pays over $100,000.00
per year in property, gasoline, sales and employment taxes in the City of
Medina, and
WHEREAS, the Medicine Lake Bus Company provides sufficient
service to a number of communities, including Medina, and
WHEREAS, no public need has been demonstrated for takeover
of Media=ine Lake Bus Company by the Metropolitan Transit Commission, and
WHEREAS, the Medina City Council believes it would be a
serious mistake to reduce competition and reuce tax paying business
through such a take-over.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Medina hereby requests that the Metropolitan Transit Commission
reject the proposal to absorb the Medicine Lake Bus Company by
condemnation or any other means.

Member Robert Franklin introduced the above resolution and moved its
adoption. The motion was duly seconded by member Donald DesLauriers,
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Wayne Neddermeyer, Donald DesLauriers, Robert Franklin, Arthur Theis
and the following voted against the same: None
whereupon the resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
