RESOLUTION NO. 03-4229
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY MAKING PUBLIC BENEFIT FINDINGS AND APPROVING
SUPPORT FOR THE PUBLISHING OF A BOOK RELATED TO
TEMPLE CITY
WHEREAS, Ms. Josette Temple has informed various persons and entities of her proposal to
publish a book chronicling the life and art of her father, Walter P. Temple, Jr.; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Temple has requested financial support from various sources to help make
publication of this book a reality; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Temple City was founded by Walter P. Temple, Sr., father of Walter P.
Temple, Jr. and grandfather of Ms. Temple; and,
WHEREAS, the book proposed by Ms. Temple may include historical depictions and verbiage
which would promote the history and heritage of the City of Temple City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. That the publishing of a book related to the art of Walter P. Temple Jr. promotes the
City of Temple City in a positive way; and,
SECTION 2. Such positive promotion is of general benefit to the City and its citizens; and,
SECTION 3. As a result of this promotion, a contribution of $500.00 to produce said book is
warranted and hereby approved.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED on this 2nd day of December, 2003.

No. 03 -4229, was duly passed, approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Temple City at a
regular meeting held on the 2nd day of December, 2003 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmember - Arrighi, Capra, Zovak, Vizcarra
NOES: Councilmember -None
ABSENT: Councilmember -Wong
ABSTAIN: Councilmember -None
