RESOLUTION NO. 99.35A
J A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
' AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF TEN THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED
.~ DOLLARS FROM THE. UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND BALANCE FOR
ADDITIONAL STAFF' IN THE RECREATION & COMMUNITY SERVICES
E DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood has demonstrated outstanding growth. '
,~,~ in the area of Senior Citizens and related programs; and
` :.
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood is in the midst of a major renovation of
the Ham Park Community Center; and ~ =
• WHEREAS, This facility, when the rehabilitation is completed, will be
• operated as a full-time, multi-service community center; and
• WHEREAS, These particular areas of the Recreation & Community '
Services Department necessitate additional staff assistance; and
WHEREAS, staff is recommending the reclassification of the
:Administrative Aide assigned to Senior Citizens Programs to that of Facility and Program ~~
.Supervisor responsible for Senior Citizens Programs along with the supervision of Ham
, Park Community-Center as well as various' other programs; and
. WHEREAS, staff is also recommending that two (2) Recreation Specialist.
Instructor Positions be added to the department organizational chart to provide direct day- '
. to-day on-site staff support for the Ham Park Center as well~as the Senior Citizens
Programs; and
. _ ~' ~ WHEREAS, These particular issues were not approved as part of the
:I 1998/99 fiscal budget adopted. by the City Council. •
WHEREAS, The projected cost for these items is ten thousand six
hundred dollars ($10,600.00). •
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council:of the City of Lynwood does . .
hereby find, proclaim, order and. resolve as follows:
Section 1: The City Manager o~r-his designee is authorized to carryout ,
all necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution.
Section 2. That the appropriation in the amount of,($10,600.00) is.to
be executed as follows: •
