RESOLUTION NO. 04-4242
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TEMPLE CITY REGULATING VEHICLE PARKING ON
ROSEMEAD BOULEVARD AND THE ROSEMEAD
BOULEVARD SERVICE ROADS FOR THE PURPOSES OF
STREET MAINTENANCE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City desires to ensure that all arterials
within the City's jurisdiction are well maintained; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City desires to ensure that the City's
arterials are regularly mechanically swept to remove trash, sediment, and debris thereby making
a positive contribution to the health, safety, and welfare of the residents, and contributing to the
cleanliness and healthfulness of downstream creeks, channels, rivers and the Pacific Ocean;
and,
WHEREAS, vehicles which regularly park on Rosemead Boulevard often pose an
obstacle to the City's maintenance and street sweeping efforts from fully accessing the curb and
gutter, thereby preventing the removal of trash, sediment, and debris from the public right -of -way;
and,
WHEREAS, Division 11, Chapter 9, Section 22507.6 of the California Vehicle Code
authorizes local authorities to prohibit or restrict the stopping, parking, or standing of vehicles on
a state highway, in their respective jurisdictions; and,
WHEREAS, Division 11, Chapter 10, Section 22651(n) of the California Vehicle Code
authorizes local authorities to remove vehicles whenever a vehicle is parked or left standing in
violation of a properly adopted and posted restriction on parking; and,
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City does hereby resolve:
SECTION 1: Vehicle parking on the west side of Rosemead Boulevard between the
northern and southern City limit lines and the east side of the Rosemead east service road shall
be prohibited between 8:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. every Tuesday to facilitate street maintenance.
SECTION 2: Vehicle parking on the east side of Rosemead Boulevard between the
northern and southern City limit lines and the west side of the Rosemead west service road shall
be prohibited between 8:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. every Thursday to facilitate street maintenance.
SECTION 3: The City Manager is hereby authorized to erect or install the following
signage in conformance with Section 22507.6 of the California Vehicle Code:
(A) Not Tess than seven (7) signs on the west side of Rosemead Boulevard, generally
evenly spaced between the City's northern and southern City limit lines which
state: "No Parking Tuesday 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Tow Away." Each sign shall
be not less than 17" X 22" in size, with lettering not less than one inch in height.
Not less than seven (7) signs on the east side of Rosemead Boulevard generally
evenly spaced between the City's northern and southern City limit lines which
state: "No Parking Thursday 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Tow Away." Each sign shall
be not less than 17" X 22" in size, with lettering not less than one inch in height.
(C) Not less than two (2) signs on the Rosemead Boulevard east service road, at the
entrance which states: "No Parking Tuesday 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Tow Away."
Each sign shall be not less than 17" X 22" in size, with lettering not less than one
inch in height.

(D) Not Tess than two (2) signs on the Rosemead Boulevard west service road, at the
entrance which states: "No Parking Thursday 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Tow Away."
Each sign shall be not less than 17" X 22" in size, with lettering not less than one
inch in height.
SECTION 4: Violations of the parking restrictions imposed by this Resolution shall
subject violators to the sanctions provided in applicable Federal, State, and Local law, and the
Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department, or any other authorized law enforcement personnel,
are hereby authorized to issue citations or take other action to enforce this Resolution.
SECTION 5: Vehicles parked in violation of this regulation are subject to removal.
SECTION 6: The City Manager may suspend enforcement of the provisions of this
resolution for any period of time as the City Manager may, in good judgment determine is
necessary for the efficient administration of the City.
SECTION 7: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.

of Temple City at a regular meeting held on the 3rd day of February, 2004 by the following vote:
