RESOLUTION NO. 04-4243
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
AS A FINALIST FOR SELECTION AS A RECIPIENT OF THE
CHAMPIONS OF SMALL CITY MANAGEMENT AWARD FOR 2004
WHEREAS, the City of Temple City has received an unsolicited notification from and been
selected by Pat Summerall Productions as a finalist for the Champions of Small City Management Award
for 2004; and,
WHEREAS, those 25 cities nationwide awarded the Champions of Small City Management
Award are recognized for providing services of excellence to their communities; and,
WHEREAS, should the City of Temple City be selected for this award, the City would receive
national recognition through broadcasts on Headline News Network and Forbes.Com; and,
WHEREAS, selection for this Award would be an affirmation of this City Council's commitment to
improving the Temple City community for its residents, business owners, and visitors.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to take all actions necessary to pursue
selection of the City of Temple City as an awardee of the Champions of Small City Management Award;
and,
SECTION 2. An amount in the sum of $24,000 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund
(Account Number 01- 910 -41 -4670) for this purpose.

I, City Clerk of the City of Temple City, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution, Resolution
No. 04 -4243, was duly passed, approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Temple City at a
regular meeting held on the 3rd day of February, 2004 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmember - Arrighi, Capra, Wong, Zovak, Vizcarra
NOES: Councilmember -None
ABSENT: Councilmember -None
ABSTAIN: Councilmember -None
