A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROPRIATING $6,000 FOR THE EMERGENCY
REPAIR OF TRUCK 311 AND APPROVING AN INFORMAL BID
PROCEDURE WHICH'REQUIRES A 4/5 VOTE TO FACILITATE THIS
REPAIR

' WHEREAS, the 1964 Crown Fire Coach,. aerial platform, 75 `Snorkel has the original :
electrical, and
WHEREAS, truck 311 has developed two electrical shorts /fires within the past two
months, and .
WHEREAS, the safety and reliability of said equipment is vital on any~emergency scene,
and
WHEREAS, we are unable to obtain truck service from~the Los Angeles County Fire
Department until a resolution is passed by City Council to consolidate and presented to the
County Board of Supervisors, and
WHEREAS,, replacement of the complete electrical wiring of Truck 311 will help to
ensure-the safety of fire personnel and our citizens, and,
WHEREAS, under Section 6-3,13 of the Lynwood Municipal Code, Council can authorize
.purchases /repairs through informal bids by a 4/5 vote. -
NOW. THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That municipal garage staff is authorized to'have the electrical
wiring re-done on Truck 311, from bumper to bumper. '
Section 2. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to
transfer funds as follows:

un-appropriated general funds ($6,000)
To
08-4451-4230 ($6,000) ,
Section 3. That the City Manager is authorized to conduct an informal
bid process to facilitate the repairs.
