RESOLUTION NO. 76 S , REGARDING COLLECTION OF FIRE CHARGES
WHEREAS the City of Medina has experienced difficulty in
the past in collecting overdue charges from property owners
who have benefitted from fire -fighting services; and
WHEREAS Minnesota Statutes Chapter 429 provides a procedure
for collection of other special assessments from owners of
real property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Medina City Council
does hereby request that the Legislature includes fire calls
among the list of services --such as weed elimination and .removal
of hazards --that may be collected as special assessments; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be
sent to appropriate legislators as a request for the amendment
of Uhapter 429.101.
