HomeMy Public PortalAbout01 Public Meeting ConsultantRESOLUTION NO. 93-1 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT FOR THE SERVICES OF A PUBLC MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee was incorporated on March 23, 1993, as a general law city of the State of California; and WHEREAS, it is necessary that the Town Council obtain the services of a public management consultant to help it begin to organize and operate the town government; and WHEREAS, George Gaekle, President of Gaekle Management Services, Inc., has agreed to provide such services; NOW, THEREFORE, the Town Council of the Town of Truckee does resolve as follows: Section 1. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town of Truckee that certain agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A. TOWN OF TRUCKEE Mayor GAEKLE MANAGEMENT SERVICES, INC. Presiden~'~ APPROVED AS TO FORM Town Attorne~ ExhiOit A AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this 23rd day of March, 1993, by and between the Town of Truckee (hereinafter referred to as ("Town") and Gaekle Management Services, a California corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Gaekle). WHEREAS, on November 3, 1992, the citizens of Truckee voted to form the incorporated Town of Truckee effective March 23, 1993; and WHEREAS, Town requires the services of a public management con- sultant to perform the services set forth below; and WHEREAS, the Town Council determines that George Gaekle, President of Gaekle Management Services, Inc., is qualified to perform the servi- ces required; NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of their mutual covenants, the parties hereto agree as follows: 1. Services. Gaekle will provide Town through its Council necessary.professional management assistance needed to enable the Coun- cil to begin organizing and operating Town. Sucn services shall in- clude but not be limited to: a. See that necessary ordinances, resolutions and other documents needed are prepared. b.'Provide management advice, information and recommendations through reports and attendance at Council meetings. c. Take necessary steps with County and State governments to see that revenues due Town are received. d. Make arrangements for accounting and treasury procedures and for insurance coverage. 2. Compensation. Town will pay Gaekle upon submission of a state- ment at the rate of $500.00 per day. In addition, Gaekle shall receive reimbursement for expenses for supplies, telephone calls, travel and mileage at the IRS rate of 28 cents per mile. General terms and conditions. a. This agreement shall become effective upon its approval by Town and shall remain in effect until the employment of an Interim Town Manager or April 15, 1993, whichever comes first. b. Gaekle shall perform services to Town in a professional, worker- lik~ and businesslike manner in accordance with the standards of quality satisfactory to the Town Council. c. It is understood and agreed that this is not a contract of em- ployment in. the sense that the relation of master and servant exists. At all times Gaekle is not authorized to bind Town to any contracts or obligations.
