HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 04-4253 Mayor's Appointment to Council Committees1 1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 04 -4253 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY MAKING APPOINTMENTS TO VARIOUS CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEES WHEREAS, by virtue of their position as a City Councilmember, the Councilmembers are eligible to serve on various committees; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor has requested and received information from various Councilmembers on their interest in serving on various committees; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor has presented his recommendations for the various City Council committee appointments and, WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed said recommendations. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: SECTION 1. The appointments contained on Exhibit "A" for the various City Council committees are hereby made; and, SECTION 2. Appointments are effective upon passage of this resolution and shall continue until the next regularly scheduled selection of Mayor of the City of Temple City. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED on this 6th day of April, 2004. The City's delegate is a non - voting member of the Temple City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.) TEMPLE CITY SISTER CITY, INC. ($100 paid per meeting) (The City is a member of the Foothill Transit Authority, which is a governmental agency that operates buses along bus routes throughout the San Gabriel Valley. Delegate has voting responsibilities.) L.A. COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT Mayoral Delegate: Mayor Zovak 1955 Workman Mill Road Whittier, CA 90601 Alternate: MPT Arrighi (562) 699 -7411 Meetings: 4th Wednesday of month @ 1:30 p.m. ($125 paid per month) (Temple City is a member of the L.A. County Sanitation District, which is a governmental agency that oversees waste disposal in Los Angeles County. The Delegate has voting responsibilities.) Azusa Canyon Road West Covina, CA 91790 (626) 814 -9466 Meeting: 2nd Friday of each month @ 7 a.m. ($50 paid per month) (Temple City is a member of the Mosquito Abatement District, which oversees and performs mosquito abatement services in Temple City and other member cities. Delegate has voting responsibilities.) Huntington Drive Duarte, CA 91010 Meetings: Board meetings are normally held the third Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. ($50 paid per month up to max of $500 per year for meetings attended) (Temple City is a member of the SGVCOG, which works to ensure the San Gabriel Valley gets its fair share of local, state, and federal tax dollars by fostering a consensus among San Gabriel Valley cities regarding policies and programs that address issues relating to land use, air quality, transportation, solid waste, and other matters deemed essential. Delegate has voting responsibilities) NOTE: The Mayor and the Mayor Pro Tempore have been designated by title in Resolution No. 03 -4204 as the delegate and alternate respectively, however any councilmember may be appointed to these posts by simply adopting another resolution, which specifically identifies the representatives by name. IV. AD HOC COMMITTEES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS COMMITTEE Members: Mayor Zovak Cmbr. Wong (The Temple City School District Committee is an ad hoc committee of the City Council that meets quarterly or as needed with an ad hoc committee of the Temple City Unified School District Board to discuss issues of mutual concern or interest.) TEMPLE CITY LIBRARY COMMITTEE Delegate: Cmbr. Vizcarra Temple City Library 5939 Golden West Alternate: Cmbr. Wong Temple City, CA 91780 Meeting: As needed (The Temple City Library Committee is an ad hoc committee of the City Council that meets to discuss issues benefiting the L.A.
