A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT FOR THE URBAN TREE
PLANTING COMPETITIVE GRANT WITH THE LOS
ANGELES COUNTY REGIONAL PARK AND OPEN
SPACE DISTRICT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
OR HIS DESIGNEE TO MAKE THE NECESSARY FUNDS
APPROPRIATION AND TRANSFER
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Regional Park and .Open Space .
District (the District) has awarded an Urban Tree Planting Competitive Grant (the Grant)
to the City; and
WHEREAS, said Grant will result in the planting of certain number of trees
lining business strips on Long Beach Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue from the I-105
Freeway to the north city limits; and
WHEREAS, said tree planting will benefit local residents, businesses and
motorists passing through the area by providing a soft and inviting environment; and
WHEREAS, said Grant provides $90,200 of Prop "A" and requires the
City's share of $15,000 for a total budget of $105,200; and
WHEREAS, staff has identified available funds that can be used for the
required City's share.-
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lynwood as follows:
Section 1. That the Mayor. is authorized to execute the Grant Agreement
with the District.
Section 2. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to make
the following funds appropriation and transfer:

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
