A ~ RESOLUTION ~ OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD .
REQUESTtNG THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES TO CONSOLIDATE A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
NOVEMBER 2, 1999, .WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT ELECTION. TO BE HELD ON
-~ THAT DATE, PURSUANT TO. SECTION 10403 OF THE ELECTIONS CODE
µ WHEREAS, the City .Council of the City.of Lynwood called'a General. Municipal
Electian to be held on November 2, -1999, .for. the purpose of electing two members of
.the. City Council, a City Clerk, and a City Treasurer, each to hold office fora term of four
years eliding- in November, 2003; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the General Municipal Election be consolidated •
with the School District Election to be held on-.the ;same date, that within the City the .
precincts, polling places,. and election officers of the two elections be the same, .that the
.Los Angeles County Election Department. canvass the returns of the General Municipal
election, and thaf.the election be held in all respects as if there were only one election;
NOW, .THEREFORE, THE .CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
RESOLVES, DETERMINES, AND ORDERS'AS FOLLOWS:
Section. 1. Pursuant to the requirements of Section 10403 of the Elections
Code, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is requested to•consent and agree
to the consolidation of the General .Municipal Election with the School District Election
to be held on Tuesday, November2, 1999,~;for the purpose of electing two members of
the City Council, . a City Clerk, and a City Treasurer, each to, hold office ,for a term of
fourydars. ~ .
Section 2. The Los Angeles County ~ Election Department is authorized to ,-
..canvass the returns of the General Municipal Election.. The-election will be held in all
respects as'if.there were only one election, and only one form of• ballot will be used.

Section 3. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is requested to
issue instructions to the County Election Department to take any and all steps
•~ necessary for the holding of this consolidated election. • _ ~ ',
Section 4. The City of Lynwood, 'recognizes Ghat additional costs ,.will be
incurred by .Los Angeles County. by reason of this.. consolidation and agrees to
reimb~rse.Los Angeles County for those costs.
Section 5. The City Clerk is directed to file a certified copy of this resolution
with the County of Los Angeles Election Department.
PASSED; APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City. Council of .the' City of
