RESOLUTION NO. 2002-if
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA,
DECLARING ITS OFFICIAL INTENT TO PURCHASE
PROPERTY FOR A WELL FIELD
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle has determined that it is necessary to construct a
municipal water supply well in addition to the well sites located near the water department;
WHEREAS,the City has determined that the property described below,owned by Jack Torr
Farms, Inc. is the best location for said water supply well; and
WHEREAS, two appraisals have been completed for the property.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GREENCASTLE hereby declares its official intent to purchase the property described below:
Situate in the State of Indiana, County of Putnam and being a part of the East half of the
Northeast quarter of Section 10, Township 14 North, Range 4 West of the Second Principal
Meridian, more particularly described to-wit:
Beginning at a 5/8 inch rebar marking the Northeast corner of Section 10,Township 14 North,
Range 4 West,thence South 00 degrees 58 minutes 56 seconds West 385.15 feet with the East
line of the East half of the Northeast quarter of Section 10 to a 5/8 inch rebar;thence South 89
degrees 23 minutes 54 seconds West 1350.78 feet to a 5/8 inch rebar on the West line of said
East half quarter;thence North 00 degrees 39 minutes 32 seconds East 385.09 feet to a 5/8 inch
rebar marking the Northwest corner of said East half quarter; thence North 89 degrees 23
minutes 54 seconds East 1352.95 feet with the North line of said East half quarter to the point
of beginning containing 11.95 acres, more or less.
Subject to all rights-of-way and pertinent easements of record.
Contingent upon the City and the Landowner reaching an acceptable purchase agreement for
the property.
PASSED AND RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle at its regular
meeting this Gf day of April, 2002.
