A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA,
DECLARING ITS OFFICIAL INTENT TO PURCHASE
PROPERTY FOR A WELL FIELD
WHEREAS,the City of Greencastle (City)has determined that it is necessary to construct a
municipal water supply well in addition to the well sites located near the water department;
WHEREAS,the City has located an appropriate site for the new well,and by law,is required
to purchase all property within 200 feet of said location; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that the property described below, owned by Anne
Walden Duffer is within 200 feet of the new well location.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GREENCASTLE hereby declares its official intent to purchase the property described below:
Situate in the State of Indiana, County of Putnam and being a part of the South Half of the
Southeast Quarter of Section 3, Township 14 North, Range 4 West of the Second Principal
Meridian, more particularly described to-wit:
Beginning at a 5/8 inch rebar marking the Southeast Corner of Section 3,Township 14 North,
Range 4 West, thence South 89 degrees 23 minutes 54 seconds West 1352.95 feet with the
South line of the Southeast Quarter of Section 3 to a 5/8 inch rebar marking the Southwest
Corner of the East Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 3; thence North 00 degrees 39
minutes 32 seconds East 254.38 feet to the centerline of Big Walnut Creek; thence with said
centerline,North 71 degrees 56 minutes 30 seconds East 162.05 feet;thence South 77 degrees
25 minutes 48 seconds East 90.40 feet; thence South 49 degrees 03 minutes 37 seconds East
169.86 feet;thence South 58 degrees 06 minutes 21 seconds East 78.57 feet;thence South 77
degrees 10 minutes 50 seconds East 94.87 feet;thence North 88 degrees 32 minutes 22 seconds
East 161.62 feet; thence North 67 degrees 55 minutes 21 seconds East 292.44 feet; thence
North 78 degrees 49 minutes 34 seconds East 164.79 feet;thence North 85 degrees 56 minutes
51 seconds East 179.39 feet;thence North 57 degrees 22 minutes 46 seconds East 60.33 feet to
the centerline of the county road;thence leaving the aforesaid centerline of Big Walnut Creek
and with the centerline of said county road South 13 degrees 18 minutes 50 seconds East
111.43 feet to a mag nail;thence South 08 degrees 23 minutes 11 seconds East 51.42 feet to a
mag nail;thence South 05 degrees 22 minutes 18 seconds East 63.35 feet to a mag nail;thence
South 04 degrees 11 minutes 27 seconds West 66.53 feet to a mag nail in the South line of the
Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 2,Township 14 North,Range 4 West;
thence leaving said road centerline North 88 degrees 56 minutes 56 seconds West 38.09 feet
with said South line to the point of beginning, containing 6.50 acres, more or less.
n Subject to all rights-of-way and pertinent easements of record.
Contingent upon two appraisals being obtained for the property, and the City and the
Landowner reaching an acceptable purchase agreement for the property.
PASSE AND RESOLVED by the Common Council ofthe City of Greencastle at its regular
meeting this 4V6 day of April, 2002.
