A RESOLUTION SELLING SURPLUS PROPERTY
TO MADISON TWP. VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS,the City of Greencastle has acquired Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
for the purpose of fire suppression; and
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle owns older Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
which is no longer needed or used by the Greencastle Fire Department; and
'WHEREAS,the City of Greencastle desires to transfer ownership of said Self Contained
Breathing Apparatus to the Madison Twp. Vol. Fire Department.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE
hereby transfers ownership of five older Self Contained Breathing Apparatus to the Madison
Twp.Vol.Fire Department for the consideration of$ 1.00. Said Transfer shall take place upon
passage of a comparable resolution by the Madison Twp.Vol. Fire Department.
Further,the City of Greencastle makes no warranty whatsoever regarding the Self
Contained Breathing Apparatus and the Madison Twp.Vol.Fire Department takes ownership to
said SCBA"as is"and shall hold the City harmless for any liability arising from this transfer of
property.
PASSED AND RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle at its
regular meeting this 10`h day of June 2003.

First we want to thank you for the opporthuuty O receive> CBA'$from Greencastle Fire. It is
always a privilege to work with=an excellent staffed fire department Second it is my under-
standing that to receive this generous tdonation you need to know'what are plans are for them. At
this time I would like to expand;:on our plans As you know:we.have an:engine and rescue
apparatus that at this time have SCBA"son them a are to the processof working on a proposal
to purchase a tanker/pumper sometimeiwit in the year
By these actions we would move the SCBA's on the rescue truck to an'older:piece of apparatus.
Then move the SCBA's from the engine to the rescue. At'this time the rescue'only has 2 units on
board, by moving the packs from the engine it would increase it to 4. As we are looking to
receive 6 packs from your ire department, .of the packs would go on the engine with the other 2
going to the new tanker/pumper>uponmval I hope this covers your concerns and any if there
