Recognizing
2003-32 ¶¶
ResolutionRecognizing the Accomjpllisliments of
lnrackney
WHEREAS, the citizens of the Greencastle community are the recipients of many hours of dedicated service and the
philanthropic activities of Keith Brackney;and
WHEREAS, as Co-chairman of the 2003 Putnam County Relay for Life,Brackney helped assemble 125 teams to raise an
amazing$160,000 in support of the American Cancer Society;and
WHEREAS, Keith has given many hours to Main Street Greencastle and the Putnam County Convention and Visitors
Bureau while serving on their Boards of Directors; and
WHEREAS, in his youth,Keith gave an indication as to his future in public service while he was a member of the lifeguard
staff at Cataract Lake in Lieber State Park. We understand the television series Bay Watch was loosely based
on that brave group who put their lives on the line at Cataract Lake beach; and
WHEREAS, Keith is the husband of dedicated teacher Shirley Noel Brackney,and they are the parents of now-famous twin
.-. daughters who have gone on to be a 500 Festival Princess and an intern and star of a soap opera.
WHEREAS, Keith Brackney has continued to provide leadership,energy and inspiration to Greencastle and the surrounding
area, improving the lives of all citizens.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Greencastle,Putnam County,Indiana,
declares its gratitude to Keith Brackney who has demonstrated that the people of the Greencastle community are its greatest
resource.
